The Little Boy
He is watching them, his eyes getting bigger, his heart heavier. It breaks his mother's heart to see him like this. To see him losing a bit of his smile with every day. He is such a good boy. Always trying to be strong, always trying to make his mom proud. What he doesn't know: His mother will never stop loving him. Because she's the only one who sees his kindness. But she is afraid that one day he might loose his smile and joy for good. That all that's left is a mask on his face. Every time he comes home she sees that he tries to hide his tears. She sees that with every day he struggles more to keep the mask up, too.
He is standing there pretending to be what he isn't. Pretending nothing to hear or to see. He tries to ignore. But it is hard. They say time heals. But time doesn't heal nor does it help to adapt. It just teaches you how to pretend better. Teaches you how to hide every single emotion.
Be strong! You don't want to see mommy, don't you? He tells himself. Oh, how lonely he is. His heavy little heart struggles to beat.
